Jack Dorsey on March 21, 2006 sent a simple message: “just setting up my twitter”.
It was, of course, the first post on the site, which is still best known as Twitter even after it was changed to X by new owner Elon Musk (the deal is still ongoing. argued in court). X happened later Part of Mask’s xAIwhich itself became part of SpaceX.
Musk drastically reduced the company’s workforce and fueled new controversy by including xAI’s Grok chatbot called himself “MechaHitler”. and he was used to it creating widespread sexual deep fakesincluding real women and children.
At this time X strongly controls some user groupsincluding areas of the technology industry, it also competes with services such as Bluesky and Meta’s Threads. A report Threads recently suggests has surpassed Xi in the number of daily mobile users. (All of these primarily text-based services are dwarfed by apps like Instagram and TikTok.)
As for Dorsey’s original tweet, the later Twitter co-founder Sold as NFT for $2.9 million. But it is said to have value collapsedthe buyer cannot resell it.
