Guilty
Jake Gyllenhaal in a single location thriller
Knowing how GuiltyNetflix has a 2021 remake of the Danish film of the same name, which makes me appreciate the crime thriller even more. This went into production in 2020, the first year of the pandemic. With all the rules and regulations in place, Guilty It was chosen to shoot in one place to make things easier during filming. A few days before production began, Antoine Fuqua had to go into quarantine after someone tested positive, so he directed the film from a nearby van. Are you impressed yet?
in the center Guilty Jake Gyllenhaal plays Joe Baylor, an LAPD officer who is forced to work in a 911 call center while awaiting sentencing for an incident at work months earlier. One night, he gets a call from a woman named Emily Lighton (Riley Keough) who says she’s been kidnapped. As he investigates the case, Joe becomes increasingly concerned for Emily and her safety, leading to unexpected twists and consequences throughout the night.
since Guilty takes place in one place, relying on two things to drive the action: Gyllenhaal and the script. Gyllenhaal’s intensity keeps the audience on edge as Joe slowly cracks under the pressure as the weight of his actions sinks in. His committed performance matched by Nic Pizzolatto’s thought-provoking script is a winning formula.

Under Paris
Shark attack in the city of light
We, the audience, are so used to being afraid of sharks in movies Jaws. Many directors have taken the ideas of Steven Spielberg’s seminal blockbuster and applied them to their own films. shark movies. Genetically modified sharks? Deep Blue Sea. Shark vs Surfer? Shallow. A shark bigger than a submarine? I.
The next twist of the shark movie is a shark in France Under Paris. While on a research expedition, marine biologist Sofia (Bérénice Bejo) witnesses her entire team die at the hands of a killer shark. Years later, Sofia leaves the deep ocean for the safety of the Paris aquarium. His peace is short-lived when the same creature that killed his team is now trapped in the Seine River. As in Jawsthe mayor chooses to keep the river open for an important triathlon.
Sharks with innocent people in the water in Paris? Obviously you know where this is going. This is not an excavation Under Paris. Predictable scares will happen in shark movies. It’s the fun factor that matters, and I can say that for sure Under Paris will get your attention. Suspend disbelief and you’ll be rewarded with a fun time at the movies.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie
Jesse Pinkman gets his shot at payback
Name the advantage about Breaking Bad. Probably true. One of the best shows? Check it out. One of the greatest TV performances? Check it out. One of the best supporting roles? Check it out. Speaking of supporting players, Aaron Paul deserves more mention when discussing all-time assists on television. Walter White doesn’t get worse without Jesse Pinkman. Because of his importance, Jesse deserved a definitive conclusion.
El Camino: The Breaking Bad Movie Picks up after Jesse escapes from Todd’s neighborhood. While on the run, Jesse plans to raise $250,000 to buy a new identity from Ed Galbraith (Robert Forster), aka the vacuum cleaner who exterminates criminals. While searching for cash, Jesse crosses paths with a familiar enemy, someone from his past that he can’t let go of.
If Road if it only included present-day scenes, I’d honestly be less keen. I love Gilligan’s decision to include flashbacks, especially the one with Walter (Bryan Cranston), because it explains Jesse’s trauma and his motivation for a better future. Road not as good Breaking Bad’s highs. Still, it was a satisfying return to a universe that many people loved.
