Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series has just been launched, but leaks about next year’s Galaxy S27 lineup are already emerging, and it looks like Samsung could expand the lineup to four models by introducing the Galaxy S27 Pro for the first time.
This was reported by a Korean publication ETNewsSamsung has prepared a plan to launch the Galaxy S27 series with four models instead of the usual three. The report suggests that Samsung is looking to expand beyond its standard three-phone lineup, which includes a new Pro model alongside standard, Plus and Ultra variants.

I’m actually pretty excited about it. If Samsung gets the size right and keeps most of the Ultra’s features intact, this could easily be a flagship flagship for people who don’t want a bulky phone in their pocket.
According to the report, the Galaxy S27 Pro will share many features with the Galaxy S27 Ultra, but will not support the S Pen. The exact screen size has yet to be confirmed, but it seems that Samsung is aiming for a smaller flagship device to compete with the standard Pro-sized iPhones.

The report mentions that Samsung may also bring it Privacy Screen feature From the Galaxy S26 Ultra to next year’s S27 Pro, it will take it beyond the Ultra model.
This marks the second time Samsung has experimented with a four-model flagship series. The Galaxy S25 series includes a brief Galaxy S25 Edgeattention to detail. However, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to focus on delivering Ultra-level features in a more compact form factor.
If you remember, there was also a rumor from Samsung rename the base Galaxy S26 to S26 Pro this year, but that didn’t happen. That version was expected to keep the same dimensions and features as the standard model. This time, though, the Galaxy S27 Pro is shaping up to be more of a new addition than just a rebranded variant.
Adoption of Android Central
I wonder if Samsung is setting this up as a price play? With memory costs rising and component costs rising, splitting the lineup could give Samsung more room to raise Ultra prices even further next year.
It’s too early to know exactly what the Galaxy S27 Pro will offer, but it could finally be the smaller Ultra-style flagship that many, including myself, have been waiting for.
