Instagram is heading into the weekend with an update that can help you avoid awkward stares in replies.
Funny, Instagram announced Threads says it’s rolling out an edit button for comments made on the platform via a post (via The Verge). Thread continues, users can edit Instagram comments within 15 minutes of posting. Verge chimes in by providing a screenshot of this feature. After you post your reply, users will see an “Edit” option below their comment.
This will re-illuminate your keyboard as well as your typing with a prominent “edit comment” banner above the text field. After that, all you have to do is hit the icon and your edited comment will go up and nobody will be the wiser. The publication spoke with Meta spokesperson Nicole Rechtszaid about the new edit button. Rechtszaid informed them that comments you modify will have a gray “Edited” label next to the content.

The publication has conducted some tests and it seems that Instagram’s edit button is slowly starting to appear. These tests are reportedly done with an iPhone, so it might be wise to check with Android over the weekend to see if it arrives.
