What you need to know
- An early claimed performance listing for Samsung’s Exynos 2700 suggests that it will have a 10-core build with the fastest core clocked at ~2.88GHz.
- The chip has also been spotted with an Xclipse 970 GPU, with other rumors claiming it could see a 12% performance boost.
- A Samsung executive said earlier this year that the company is committed to developing future Exynos chips and wants to implement it in several Galaxy devices.
It’s typical to expect a new SoC for phones every year, and it looks like Samsung isn’t slowing down with its Exynos 2700 development.
Earlier this week GSMArena Samsung’s next chip, the 2nm Exynos 2700, has reportedly appeared for the Geekbench performance test. What’s most interesting here are the details of the listing: Samsung’s basic structure for this iteration. The publication claims that it has found a chip with a 10-core CPU similar to the Exynos 2600. Galaxy S26 series in South Korea.
Android Central’s Take
Some of these clock speeds are a bit off for me. By my calculations, some of these claimed speeds are below 2600. The publication notes that this list is based on the “engineers” build, so these numbers may be slightly lower. I certainly hope so.
It was learned that the fastest cores of the Exynos 2700 are clocked at ~ 2.88 GHz. The post adds that the remaining cores sit at ~2.4GHz, potentially based on efficiency. The other side of the equation is the Xclipse 970 GPU that could be attached to the SoC when it debuts. GSMArena reports that the Exynos 2700 is rumored to be able to build on the 2600, offering a decent 12% overall performance boost.

At the moment, the information from the first test results is coming out, so it is better not to draw any conclusions yet. However, there are a few reports that could help shape the Exynos 2700 in our minds.
Exynos for all

The reports surfaced in early March after Moon Sung-hoon, vice president of hardware for Samsung’s MX business, began speaking out. About the future of the Exynos chipset. Moon said the company has begun developing a “mid- to long-term strategy” for the development of new chips. More importantly, it will push Exynos chips into more Galaxy devices in the Samsung ecosystem.
Android Central’s Take
Samsung is committed to its Exynos future. I think the deciding factor is how well he can compete. I mean, the Galaxy S26 doesn’t have Exynos 2600 everywhere. We don’t have that in the US, we have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Sure, it means “for Galaxy,” meaning overclocked, but it’s a Qualcomm chip. Samsung does this because it knows how the market reacts. I wonder if we’ll get to the point where it can compete. and Stand tall like Qualcomm.
Samsung is keen to take on the challenge for Exynos, although Moon says developing the chips is “difficult” and takes “several years” of work. Exynos 2700 shortly after rumors surfaced After a South Korean publication said it could work on heat production. Samsung is supposedly working on HPB technology to reduce how hot the chip can get and how well it can cool. Exynos chips have suffered from high heat for years, so it’s nice to hear this even if it’s just a rumor.
The Exynos 2600 debuted late last year, boasting a dramatic 39% increase in CPU capabilities.
