TL;DR
- Google is testing a redesigned Games tab in the Play Store that adds prominent, scrollable genre bubbles.
- The update also brings these genre bubbles to the Top Charts tab, replacing the easily overlooked Categories drop-down menu.
The Google Play Store It remains the beating heart of Android for Google and its users. Naturally, this program has attracted a lot of attention, especially for the Games tab. Now it looks like Google is giving this section of the app another new coat of paint.
Currently, the Games tab in the Play Store offers a fairly rigid top navigation structure with its options. For you, The best charts, Other devicesand Children shortcuts. What it doesn’t do is make it easy to jump right into your genre of choice.
Based on screenshots from a newer Play Store build, it appears that Google is addressing this issue and is testing a genre-specific shortcut list in this section.
You can see a comparison between the current and new UI layouts below. Notice the top navigation tab bar.
The new layout now includes Material-like bubbles that redirect users Simulation, Puzzle, Lifeand other game genres. Note that these are options already available in the program Categories tab in the current UI. Finally, this change saves players a step.
The Categories the drop-down menu is something I always forgot was there, and tapping on it brings up a fairly large list of items. Make them visible through the horizontal scrollable boxes next to them Top Charts option should make the Play Store a little easier for gamers.
It is not clear where it will place old icons like Google Children, Other devicesand Premium; it appears to have been removed from the new UI, but it is unlikely that these options will be completely removed.
Thanks for the tip, Gzx!
