A UI 9 leak reveals new looks for the Now Bar, widgets, and more

It launched with One UI 8.5 Galaxy S26 series and Samsung is currently working on bringing the Android skin to older devices. While you wait for One UI 8.5 to arrive on your Galaxy phone, One UI 9 has some new information to check out. A leak revealed changes to the Now Bar, widgets and Gallery app.

Courtesy SammyGuruwe’re getting an early look at a few user interface changes that could be coming in Samsung’s next big update. Now for the Bar, it looks like Samsung has switched to a darker background. Also, when playing the track, the name appears at the top and a wavy animation plays below the pill-shaped container. According to the socket, you can remove the switch or go directly to the Now Bar settings by long pressing.

Later, it appears that several of Samsung’s widgets have been updated to have squarer corners. Some of the affected widgets include the Samsung Browser, the Weather app, and the Now Bar. The publication suggests that there may be a number of presets that allow you to adjust the corner styles.

The last change is undoubtedly the most interesting. Looks like the Gallery app has a new box. This soft blurred box appears when you select multiple images. Any image you select is added to this box, making it easier to see what you’ve selected. Based on these leaked screenshots, you will be able to choose up to 15 items.

Samsung is still busy rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5, so don’t expect One UI 9 for a while. Also, keep in mind that these changes may be patched until the stable version of One UI 9 arrives.
