Note that Apple currently does not offer a way to manually install the update.
Apple has not yet shared release notes new software for AirTag 2. However, given that this is the first update since the device’s launch, it’s likely that the company fixes bugs and adds a few performance improvements once users start using the tracker in real-world situations.
AirTag 2 was unveiled on January 26, featuring the company’s second-generation Ultra Broadband chip and improved range thanks to speakers that are 50 percent louder than the first generation of the device.
Apple also said this AirTag 2 offers “an industry-first suite of protections against unwanted tracking, including cross-platform alerts and frequently changing unique Bluetooth identifiers.”
