When Apple first introduced Apple Intelligence, the company was cool clearly against The idea of creating a Siri chatbot. Now everything has changed a little – and there are rumors about the company Deploying the Siri app In iOS 27, users can chat with a new generation of Apple Foundation Models. While this is a great starting point, I think there is a better idea to apply here.
Messages are the answer
People already use an app made by Apple to talk every day. Why not use it for AI?
Having a “Siri” conversation in your Messages app wouldn’t be so out of the question. The only real problem would be wanting to split the chat history, but it wouldn’t be too hard to add a selector for conversational AI applications to separate chat chains.
Although this is only the beginning. Why not involve third parties?
Apple has missed its potential to be the dominant AI platform, at least so far. Sure, you download AI apps in the App Store, but Apple doesn’t have a piece of that experience yet.
This can be with iMessage.
There are already a number of trusted conversational AI applications Mac mini Server farms to provide experience over iMessage. most importantly, Poke.
Apple now also offers Business Chat. If you’ve ever contacted a company’s support line in the Messages app, you’ve probably encountered this. It’s not exactly developer-friendly, though.
If Apple introduced a new API for developers to run conversational AI applications in iMessage with iOS 27 – that would unlock a lot of potential.
Remote Control Instead of needing to open the Klod app to manage a Klod Code session, what if you could just do it through Messages? Or if you had a financial management app with an AI chatbot – what if it could text you your spending on iMessage instead of even having to think about opening the app?
I’m sure a number of developers wouldn’t want to give up control. I can’t imagine a world where you don’t need the ChatGPT app anymore. However, for tasks where Messages would be a real convenience, I think it could be a big hit.
Moreover, it gives developers a wider user base because the user will see it in their apps iPhone, iPad, Macand Apple Watchnot wherever they install the app – usually just the iPhone.
