Apple has published a new support document encouraging customers to update to the latest iOS versions to “protect your iPhone from web attacks.”

“For example, if you’re using an older version of iOS and you click on a malicious link or visit a hacked website, your iPhone may be at risk of data theft,” the company says.
Apple also says that it “thoroughly investigated these issues since they were discovered and released software updates for the latest versions of the operating system as soon as possible to address the vulnerabilities and stop such attacks.”
Earlier this month, Apple introduced security updates To older iPhones and iPads running iOS 15 and iOS 16.
A Critical Security Update is coming
Apple says that devices running iOS 13 and iOS 14 should update to iOS 15 to “receive these protections and an additional warning to install a Critical Security Update in the next few days.”
iOS 26.3.1 is the latest public version of iOS. Apple is still updating iOS 18 with iOS 18.7.6 released this month.
Older devices that cannot run iOS 18 or later must be enabled iOS 15.8.7 and iOS 16.7.15 to have the latest security updates.
Apple also released First Background Security Update for multiple devices this week.
