What you need to know
- AT&T has launched OneConnect, which bundles unlimited 5G and fiber internet for one monthly fee.
- Plans start at $90 and expand to a 10-line Family plan for a strong value of $225 per line.
- Only new customers can register; existing AT&T users are currently blocked.
AT&T is making an effort to unify your mobile and home internet, but there’s one thing that could frustrate loyal customers. The company just announced the AT&T OneConnect subscription, which combines unlimited 5G mobile data and high-speed fiber internet for one monthly fee.
It sounds simple, but especially for current, things get more complicated AT&T customers. That’s what OneConnect is offers:
- Personal ($90): Includes one phone line, 1 Gig of home internet and up to three tablets or wearable devices.
- Duo ($120): Offers two phone lines, the same 1 Gig of internet and up to six data devices.
- Family ($225): Provides up to 10 phone lines, up to 10 data devices and Internet for one home.
These prices include taxes and fees, which are now rare. The family plan is prominent. If you use all 10 lines, it costs about $22.50 per line, including fiber internet. That’s less than most prepaid plans, with the exception of postpaid family plans.

New customers only
Now for the fine print. First, this offer is only for new AT&T customers. If you already use AT&T wireless or fiber, you cannot transfer your current accounts to OneConnect.
Second, just bring your own device. There is no discounted phone discount. You must use your own unlocked eSIM compatible devices. AT&T may offer promotions later, but for now you’ll pay full price for your devices elsewhere.
There are also data limitations. AT&T advertises unlimited connectivity, but the details show that mobile lines do not include hotspot access. The company hasn’t said much about network priority, but that’s because OneConnect is compared to other companies’ entry-level plans lead carriers Like T-Mobile and Verizon, your data will be prioritized. In congested areas, your speeds may be slower than on Premium plans.
This is a big change from the carrier’s usual flexible options. You can mix and match with standard plans, such as Parent on Premium 2.0 for priority data and Teen on Value 2.0 to save money. OneConnect is one-size-fits-all. You either choose the package or you don’t.
But who is this plan for? If you have a large family that mostly uses Wi-Fi and only needs basic mobile data for messaging and streaming, the Family plan is a great deal. But if you need a mobile hotspot for work, want to finance the latest iPhone, or need priority data, you’ll quickly run into these limitations.
Android Central’s Take
Honestly, the “new customers only” rule is disappointing. This is a common industry practice that ends up penalizing loyal subscribers. We deserve better than to be told to wait behind people who haven’t paid yet. Again, convenience is a big plus for those who fit. After dealing with multiple login portals just to manage my internet and phone, I can see the value in one billing cycle. It’s a real step toward making digital life easier, even if AT&T currently operates as an exclusive club.
