Google is giving Chrome for Android more Material 3 Expressive with a redesign of its Settings page.
Now each line is placed on separate cards. The container does not span the full width of the screen, the first and last cards of each section have sharper corners. Each container is lighter than the page background, which now uses a lighter Dynamic Color shader.
Previous
Compared to the previous design of text placement with line dividers, the spaces between each section improve readability slightly.
While there are no changes to the toggles, this style is also applied when you open menus. Chrome continues to use smaller keys than the rest of Android. Otherwise, this update is now compatible with Android’s Settings app.
Redesign
These visual fixes are rolled out as a server-side update Chrome 146. If you still don’t see the update, force quit Chrome from the App info menu.
This touch of Material 3 Expressive combines updates were introduced last fall for the address bar, the three-dot overflow menu, and the Tab Grid.
