Earlier this month, Elon Musk appeared to own all but two of his 11 co-founders at the AI startup. left the company. Now, according to Business Insider, the two remaining co-founders, Manuel Kroiss and Ross Nordeen, have also left.
BI said Wednesday that Kroiss told people he was leaving xAIthen reported Nordeen left the company on Friday.
Musk recently claimed that xAI “wasn’t built right the first time,” so it’s now being “rebuilt from the ground up.” The company was recently Acquired by Musk’s company SpaceXSpaceX brings xAI and Xi (formerly Twitter) together under one corporate umbrella, as is SpaceX plans to go public.
Kroiss and Nordeen reported directly to Musk, with Kroiss leading the company’s readiness team and Nordeen serving as Musk’s “right-hand operator,” according to BI. Nordeen came to xAI from Tesla and is said to be involved in planning major layoffs at Twitter after Musk buys the company in 2022.
