Google announced today that AI Pro subscriptions now come with 5 TB of storage.
Previously, subscribers to the $19.99 per month plan got 2 TB as the $9.99 tier. This is now being increased to 3 TB for all users globally at no additional charge. It can be used to backup Gmail, Google Drive storage and Google Photos.
This is reflected in the increase in retention product marketingbut this afternoon when we go to one.google.com or the mobile app we don’t see new results.

The next storage upgrade is 10 TB for $49.99 per month, $99.99 for 20 TB, and $149.99 for 30 TB. The $249.99 Google AI Ultra offers 30TB. In comparison, the $7.99 AI Plus plan comes with just 200GB of storage.
This April Fools’ Day update has slight hints of Google’s 2004 announcement of Gmail with a then-unheard-of 1GB of storage.
Today’s move enhances Google AI Pro’s value proposition.
