Google on Thursday has announced a new firmware update for the original Pixel Buds A-Series.
Firmware version 3.581.0 is available for original Pixel Buds A-Series from 2021. This update contains “bug fixes, performance and security improvements”. No further details available today.
To start the download on Android, open the Pixel Buds companion app > More settings > Open firmware update. You can also visit mypixelbuds.google.com on desktop browsers.
- Automatic updates: If you enable automatic updates, the Pixel Buds A-Series will automatically update when connected to a Pixel phone using Android 10+ or Android 6.0+ with the Pixel Buds app installed. This download takes about 10 minutes, and you can still use your headphones during this time. After downloading, the update will be installed when you place the earphones in the charging case with enough battery. If no updates are listed, your software is up to date.
- Manual updates: When automatic updates are turned off, a notification will appear on your device when an update is available, but it will not be downloaded or installed to your Pixel Buds. Once your phone is available, you can start the download manually. This takes about 15 minutes.
This follows a similar update for the 2022 Pixel Buds Pro in December.
