Google has announced two new additions to Google Photos for all Android users, and they’re already rolling out.
Google Shows a video of the Images tool on Twitter/X related to the AI Enhance tool. The post mentions that Google Photos is adding an AI Enhance button for all Android users worldwide. It’s rolling out now, so if users haven’t seen it yet, they should start seeing it soon.
The button allows users to apply a magical touch-up to their photos using artificial intelligence, of course. It’s a do-it-all button of sorts, allowing users to go through extensive editing with a quick fix focused on adjusting brightness and contrast levels.
For video, Google has also updated it community page Announce a video in the Google Photos app. Video playback speed control is now rolling out to the app on Android, says the Pictures team. In each video, the three-dot menu will offer “playback speed” among other tools. Users can choose a speed between 0.25x and 2x.
Google notes that this is a feature that has been requested by users for a long time. This rollout may not be global yet and appears to be in earlier stages than the AI Upgrade button. Still, it should start appearing on Android devices soon.
