He-Man gets an origin story in the Masters of the Universe trailer

The first trailer was released in January and gave us He-Man’s origin story. When he was 10, Adam Glenn, the prince of Eternia and our future He-Man, crash-landed on Earth – the home planet of his former astronaut mother, Queen Marlena, sending him there to fend off Skeletor’s forces. Now grown up, Adam is a geek-obsessed office drone who searches the internet for his magic sword, convinced it will show him “the way home” so he can finally face Skeletor.

This latest trailer opens with Adam being put in an otherworldly prison and telling his fellow inmates that he knows them all, even though they probably don’t remember him. He reunites with Man-at-Arms and Teela, as well as the talking tiger Cringer (who can transform into Battlecat).

In Adam’s absence, Eternia has changed dramatically, and she faces Skeletor’s formidable forces to save her home world – but she needs this magical sword to succeed. Knowing something about failure, the Man-at-Arms urges Adam to “pick up a sword and stand tall when you fall.” Adam picks up a sword and becomes He-Man. Once he fully masters this power, Skeletor may just be history.

Masters of the Universe It will be released in theaters on June 5, 2026.
