Brave Helldivers 2 Xbox, PC and other players PS5 since we’ve been fighting the Automaton counterattack tooth and nail, led by the fierce Cyborg. Invasion of Cyberistan failed but that does not mean Managed Democracy else competitors rest on their laurels. A new Illumination threat is emerging in the southern sectors of the Galactic War… and when the new Unveil the Truth update drops, we’ll find ourselves in our next major battle against the squid.
Developer Arrowhead has announced a surprise new update trailer (see below) after teasing him news of cultist activity on social media. The trailer – linked to retro alien invasion media – confirms that the Illuminate are building strange new Exospire structures that generate electrical “Exostorms” around them and are communicating with Exospires on other nearby worlds.

Once we reach Seasse, we’ll gain access to the new “Destroy Exospire” missions. In these, Helldivers will have to push through the Exostorms surrounding these ominous Illumination structures, disable their shields by disrupting their access to the shield generators at the entry nodes, and detonate their cores, damaging the Dark Fluid cells that power it within the shale.
It’s an uphill battle ahead, but the good news is that the March 20th update also brings a lot of buffs to several strategic support weapons by giving them more ammo or improving their reload speed.
All flame-based weapons also get a buff, as flamethrower streams will now slow small and medium-sized enemies; this reduces the risk of your burning targets entering and targeting you you in the fire. Additionally, most units will be confused when they are already on fire, disrupting their behavior and helping the flamethrower more crowd control.
And last but absolutely not a few, but some Vox Engine Nerfs for those still on the bot front! These giant Cyborg supertanks definitely needed some tweaks, and they came in the form of reduced spawn speed, a nerf to their turning speed and laser cannon accuracy, and the instant destruction of their side-mounted miniguns when the main vehicle was destroyed. Thanks Freedom.
Topping it all off is the reveal of Helldivers 2 first content roadmap This means we’ll be getting a Terminid-themed update in April with a new enemy variant, two new biomes, a new Warbond, and a new Galactic War campaign. Then, in June, we get another new map biome and Warbond, as well as more battles to fight.
