OnePlus teases what’s to come compact flagshipThe OnePlus 15T has been around for a few weeks. In early March OnePlus has officially announced the design of the phone and confirmed the presence of a large battery despite its small size. Now, the company has revealed more details about the phone, including its launch date in China.
A Weibo post OnePlus’ official account confirms that the OnePlus 15T will go on sale on March 24 at 19:00 China time. Additionally, OnePlus has revealed key specifications confirming earlier leaks about the processor, charging speeds and improved durability compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13T.
Based on these teasers, the OnePlus 15T will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, placing it between the OnePlus 15 and the relatively affordable 15R. According to the pre-order page, the phone comes with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage ranging from 256GB to 1TB.
In addition, it was a telephone recently confirmed having a large 7500 mAh battery. OnePlus has now added that it also supports 100W fast wired charging, gaining support for fast wireless charging at 50W, which was missing from the previous generation.
Meanwhile, OnePlus has already confirmed that the display measures 6.32 inches and has an AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. The phone will also reportedly have minimal bezels around the display, measuring just 1.1mm thick. The display is also equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is an improvement over the optical scanner in previous generations.
The 15T also gets a 50MP primary camera on the back, along with OnePlus’ proprietary LUMO image engine that first debuted with the OnePlus 15. The phone lacks any major design changes, but gets improved durability from the 13T with IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. The phone is also confirmed to come in three colors with catchy names: Cozy Matcha, Healing White Chocolate and Pure Cocoa.
While OnePlus has confirmed its release for China, there is no word on global availability. Last year, the OnePlus 13T was rebranded as the 13S and sold only in India. We are not sure if the availability trend will continue this year or if it will expand to more markets.
