Super Mario Bros. creator and Super Mario Galaxy executive producer Shigeru Miyamoto. “I will say as opposed to something like immediately Super Smash Bros.I don’t think there will ever be a situation where all Nintendo characters will join,” Miyamoto said in an interview. His co-executive producer, Chris Meledandri, CEO of Illumination, gave extensive information about this. “When you use the term universe, I get the idea that there are really smart people in a room with charts on the wall, and they’re planning how all the characters can weave in and out of the movies for the next 10 years,” he said. “Our process is actually very different from that. It’s more about having conversations about what would be fun in a certain scene in the movie.
