The Galaxy S25 Ultra gets this unique underwater feature

Back in early 2025, Samsung introduced a unique photo mode for the Galaxy S24 Ultra to improve underwater photography. This feature was called Ocean modeand is specifically designed to assist oceanographers in coral reef restoration. Although the feature was not initially available to the general public, the tech giant decided to include it in the Expert RAW app for Galaxy S26 Ultra owners. Now this feature has landed on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

If you have a Galaxy S25 Ultra running One UI 8.5 Beta, you’re in for an Expert RAW update. This update (version 5.0.08.2) was detected by SamMobileintroduces Ocean Mode to last year’s Samsung flagship.

Ocean mode

For those unfamiliar with this feature, Ocean Mode provides automatic color correction and reduces motion blur. It also offers an interval shooting option that takes continuous shots at intervals of two, five or 10 seconds. As mentioned earlier, this feature was originally intended for oceanographers, but now you’ll be able to try it out for yourself.

To speed up Ocean Mode, you should keep in mind the limitations of the Galaxy S25 Ultra before you go diving in the ocean. IP rating. The S25 Ultra has an IP68 rating, which means it protects against dust and prolonged submersion under pressure. However, this applies to protection from fresh water, not salt water.
