We all have an embarrassing app we want to hide, personal photos we want to keep to ourselves, or important documents that aren’t easily accessible to anyone using our phones. I use a neat little function to keep everything I don’t want visible in a hidden space Pixel 10 Proincluding programs, documents and other files. Hidden items don’t even appear in the phone’s search results!
Why would you want to do that, you ask? A password protects your phone, but there are times when friends, family or others can access your device. In some countries, airport security can search your phone – yes, even personal apps like social media and gallery.

Private Space hides hidden apps on your phone
The feature is officially called Personal Space and have ever since Android 15 launched first. Although a bit of a false startGoogle has since ironed out the flaws and it seems to be running smoothly now. If you have a phone running Android 15 or higher, you should be able to use this feature. Some non-Pixel phones may not have this feature.
Personal Space lets you create a separate space on your Pixel device where you can install apps with another Google account. This allows you to keep things like web browsing history and app history completely separate. Here’s how you can do it Create a Personal Space On your Pixel.
How to Create Private Space on Pixel
1. open Settings program On your Pixel phone.
2. choose Security and privacy.
3. choose Personal space Under the privacy section.
4. hit BUILD IT UP button.
5. Create or sign in to a different Google account. You can also use your primary Google account, but that defeats the purpose of a hidden digital space because your app history will be recorded.
6. Set a lock code For your Personal Space. This can be the same or different from your primary device lock.
At this point, your Personal Space is ready for use. Go to the app drawer and scroll down to start using it. At the bottom, you’ll see a locked section labeled “Personal.”
Once unlocked, you can click on it Add button to install hidden apps or save hidden files to the location. This is also where you can fiddle with the Private Space settings outside of the main settings menu.
Now if you want to hide Private Space, that can be done too. Just click on the gear icon in Private Space or go back to the main settings menu and find the Private Space settings there.
search for Hide private space select it and change it about.
After that, Private Space will no longer appear at the bottom of your app drawer. You’ll need to search for the keywords “Private Space” in your phone’s search bar for it to appear.
Make sure you select the appropriate setting for your Personal Space’s auto-lock settings. You can choose one of three options to lock Private Space:
- Every time the device is locked
- 5 minutes after screen timeout
- Only after restarting the device
Unless you set your device to automatically lock your Private Space, it won’t be hidden until you lock it.
Personal Space is like a second user profile on your phone
Having Personal Space is like having a second profile on your Android phone. As long as you’re signed in to a different Google account for your Personal Space, you don’t have to worry about any usage history appearing in your phone’s primary Google account history.
After you install it, Google automatically adds several apps to your Personal Space. This includes the Play Store and Chrome, Photos, Contacts, Camera, Files, Passwords and even other Google apps. Twins. You can add apps to this hidden space through the Play Store, but unfortunately apps installed from other sources cannot be added.
Note that if you move files to Private Space, they will be deleted from their original location.
If you hide Private Space, I recommend locking it automatically when the device is locked – just in case you forget to lock it.
