With RAM and storage prices going through the roof, an all-in-one solution like a mini PC can really be considered if you’re looking to buy a new computer at a more affordable price. Of course, this will not be for everyone, and some argue that it is not full desktop replacementbut I like to think that mini PCs work for most people, especially if you buy a PC with more power.
Big power in a small package
This model from GMKtec delivers thanks to a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor coupled with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage. You can’t upgrade the RAM, but you can upgrade the storage, and it can hold up to 16TB.
Although the integrated AMD Radeon 680M graphics card is good, it is better to use an external card via OCuLink. This version costs $1,000, which is a monster price.
Fortunately, we’re seeing a steep discount that’s brought the price down a bit, now down to $640. That’s a pretty serious discount, especially when RAM and storage prices are at their highest.
This mini PC will be able to handle almost anything you want. It’s a great PC replacement, it can play games and even do a little AI. You can even make it a part of your home lab if you want to start some new projects.
