YouTube has been aggressively introducing new ad formats in recent years, while also battling ad blockers and third-party YouTube apps. Unfortunately, the TV experience is getting worse and worse for people who don’t pay YouTube Premium.

On TVs, YouTube now offers inescapable 30-second ads blog post earlier this month (h/t: Android Headlines). This ad format is available on connected television (CTV) worldwide.

Ads are necessary for many digital services, including YouTube, but if you think 30-second non-skippable ads are a step too far, we don’t blame you at all. So you can think about YouTube Premium, YouTube Premium Litethird-party apps or a VPN if you want to avoid this new ad format.
