TL; DR
- Following the arrival of Android 17, Google’s first monthly update is now hitting Pixel devices.
- So far, Google has introduced a few eagerly awaited fixes.
Last month was an absolutely huge month for Pixel phones Android 17 stablethe June Pixel Dropand our regular set monthly fixes and patches. Android can’t do much to live up to these levels of July hype, but we’re still very interested in keeping our phones up-to-date — and right now, that means getting Google’s latest July updates.
Google announces in the Pixel support community July 2026 Pixel updates. This release is available for all Pixel 6 and later phones, Pixel Tablets, and all of Google’s Pixel foldable devices. In the US, all of these devices will get build CP2A.260705.006.
As always, your easiest option to upgrade is to simply wait for your OTA notification to appear – though as we all know, that can take a while, and Google has confirmed plans to roll out the rollout to more and more Pixel users over the next week.
If waiting a few more days seems simply unbearable, we already see Update July OTA images Once you grab the right version for your Pixel device, you can always sideload it.
As for specific fixes, here’s what Google has in store for us:
Programs
- Fix an issue where certain apps close unexpectedly or fail to launch.
Frame
- Fix an issue where various system widgets are displayed with incorrect colors or contrast settings.
System
- Fix an issue where some devices can’t boot Android or get stuck in a boot loop under certain conditions.
User interface
- Fix an issue on foldable devices where the navigation buttons unexpectedly change alignment after folding and unfolding the device.
- Fix an issue where the wallpaper shape effect incorrectly covers the subject instead of appearing in the background.
