Samsung sets the history of next generation foldables in Unpacked

Sometimes it rains when it rains. A few hours ago, Google confirmed its plans and started sending out invitations for its big summer event Launch the Pixel 11 series on August 12. Before that event, however, Samsung will be in the spotlight to show off its latest hardware, as the company shares that its next Unpacked event will take place today. Wednesday, July 22in London.

This is both the date and the place we hear about rumors have been circulating for monthsand with just two weeks to go until zero hour, we finally got it confirmation. London is a somewhat unusual choice of location for Samsung, but given how it played with our expectations for its foldable lineup this year, perhaps a new setting would make perfect sense. If you’re not in the UK, don’t worry, as Samsung plans to broadcast its announcements live worldwide. With things kicking off at 2pm in London, you’ll be able to tune in at 9am Eastern in the US or 6am Pacific.

Samsung launched in July 2026

While we’re used to using Samsung’s summer Unpacked event to show off the next generation of foldables and wearables, this year’s entry is particularly notable for the additional phone we’ve been waiting for. Instead of just a new Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, we’re expecting Samsung to shake up its lineup. extra wide Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces a bold new form factor for the series.

The newly named should also join it Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra — a phone you might think of as a direct successor to last year’s phone 7 layersand keeping the same basic form—as well as Galaxy Z Flip 8.

In addition to these exciting changes to the company’s foldable portfolio, we also have a new one to look forward to. Galaxy Watch 9as well as properly updated Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Who knows? If we’re lucky, we might get a glimpse of the rumours Galaxy Buds On.

Like all these Samsung teasers have started dropping Last week on Instagram, we looked at the transformation of the tall rectangle into a shorter, squatter rectangle – the same transition we’ve seen Samsung’s foldables undergo with the evolution of this year’s new, extra-wide Fold 8.

Earlier today, we heard that Samsung might open up pre-registration for the new Galaxy device on July 8and along with this confirmation of the company’s Unpacked plans, Samsung also shares its word reservation registration.
