Mint Mobile FAQ

How does Mint Mobile work?

Mint Mobile offers a simple bulk purchase plan system that allows you to purchase wireless in 3, 6, and 12 month increments. There are four data plans to choose from: 5GB, 15GB, 20GB and Unlimited, all of which give you coverage on T-Mobile’s expansive 5G network, free mobile hotspot, unlimited talk and text, and coverage in Mexico, Canada and the UK.

How much is Mint Mobile?

Mint Mobile’s wireless plans start at $15 a month, but since you have to pay for a minimum of three months of coverage, you’re looking at an upfront payment of at least $45. When you’re first introduced to Mint’s pricing model, it can be a little confusing, but as long as you’re comfortable buying phone service in bulk, the potential wireless savings can be huge. Imagine forgoing a $180 fee and not having to worry about your phone bill until 2027. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

Who owns Mint Mobile?

While Mint Mobile was previously partially owned by actor Ryan Reynolds, it is now owned and operated by prepaid carrier T-Mobile. This allows Mint to give you the Big Three carrier experience without paying the price of a Big Three carrier, and since Mint Mobile is no longer an independent company, network prioritization from T-Mo is less common.
