It feels like we can’t go more than a few days without hearing about some new problem facing the Pixel phones; Judging by user reports online, you’d think Google’s hardware is almost non-functional. But many of us use Pixel phones every day without incident, which makes it difficult to gauge how widespread the problems are on places like Reddit.
In an ongoing survey Android Authority Over the past few weeks, we’ve been asking readers about their experiences with Google’s latest app Pixel 10 Pro XL. Thousands of people responded – and it turned out that most of them had no serious problems with the phone. “With pixels, there’s always background noise,” our own Stephen Radochia wrote of it Months of experience using the Pixel 10 Pro XL“but most are greatly exaggerated.”
As Stephen said, he hasn’t had any real issues with the 10 Pro XL. Nearly 6,000 people responded to a survey at the time of his writing, with more than 70% saying their experience matched Stephen’s: 4,110 respondents said their experience with the Pixel 10 Pro XL was “excellent.”
This leaves nearly 29% of respondents with real problems with the Pixel 10 Pro XL (the survey specifically mentions overheating, bugs, and poor performance). That’s about a third of a fairly large sample size, but it’s still hard to tell what 1,700 people reporting some issues with a mass-market product really means to average users.
I personally haven’t used the Pixel 10 Pro XL at all, but I’ve been using the Pixel 9 Pro for two years now and haven’t had any major issues with it. I’ve had similar experiences with several previous models – but maybe I’m just lucky.
