The Pixel 10 It’s one of the most beloved smartphones of 2025, but we’re getting closer Pixel 11 After the launch, I take a speculative look at both phones to see if the phone is worth upgrading from the previous version. Pixel 10. Or at least you should consider which phone to buy.
For now, we don’t have any official information about the Pixel 11 other than rumors and leaks. Fortunately, there were plenty of both, giving us a pretty good picture of what to expect. Having reviewed the Pixel 10 myself, I’m more interested to see what improvements Google brings to its successor.
Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 10: More of the same design with an illuminating secret
According to the leaks we’ve seen, the Pixel 11 won’t be much different from the Pixel 10. The dimensions are claimed to be very similar, although the Pixel 11 is a hair thinner. The Pixel 10 is already pretty thick, so we welcome any way Google can reduce that, especially considering the battery bump.
More noticeable design changes can be seen at the rear. Apparently, the camera face has removed the aluminum bit that houses the camera flash on the Pixel 10. Instead, the entire body appears to be encased in glass for a more unified look.
There is also this mysterious issue Pixel Glow. We’re not exactly sure what it is, but it’s based on Google Pixel 11 teaser on Google Storeit appears to be part of the LED flash unit on the camera stick, which serves as a colorful indicator light (and not a light bar as earlier rumors suggested). This could be an indication for similar notifications or AI interactions to come Google books.
There’s also a chance it won’t be available on the base model, but fingers crossed!
On the front, the display won’t change much either. It will likely remain a 6.3-inch OLED panel, and Google can improve the screen brightness, as companies usually do with each generation. With luck, Google might include some accessibility features met with Pixel 10 Probut we won’t hold our breath.
Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 10: Rumored specs hint at some major changes
The biggest changes to the Pixel 11 will mostly be under the hood. The phone is expected to be equipped with a power supply Tensor G62nm chipset, probably built by TSMC, should make it more efficient. I didn’t have too many issues with the Pixel 10’s performance, but any improvement here is welcome.
One benefit of the Tensor G6 may be new A modem built by MediaTek. This could mean we’ll see noticeable improvements in connectivity that users often complain about on Pixel phones with Samsung modems.
Interestingly, the Pixel 11 could come with a year outdated GPUso you probably won’t rely on it for heavy games. Fortunately, the fit should improve, especially later The Pixel 10 didn’t initially have updated GPU driverswhich made the games look a bit confusing.

Unfortunately, there probably won’t be much in the way of battery life, but I didn’t have any issues with battery life on the Pixel 10. I’m hoping Google will improve the Pixel 10’s 30W wired and 15W Qi2 wireless charging speeds, but I won’t hold my breath.
One thing I’m happy to see with the Pixel 11 is the new main memory. 128GB just doesn’t cut it for a flagship these days, so I’m glad to see it 256GB may be the new standard. Unfortunately, that may come with a higher price tag for the base Pixel 11, with rumors suggesting a $100 increase to $899.
Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 10: How will the Pixel 11 improve the software and AI experience?
One good thing about the Pixels is that the app experience is pretty much the same between the models. The Pixel 10 accepts Material 3 Expressiveso it’s full of colorful and fun shapes. I actually enjoyed the Pixel software experience for the first time Android 16thanks to improvements such as a customizable Quick Settings menu and notification organizer.
It includes an enhanced AI experience with the Tensor G5 chip. Google has introduced some neat new AI features Camera trainer and enabling automation The twins place orders for brakes and food delivery on your behalf. And with such features Gemini LiveThe Pixel 10 is the complete package.
The Pixel 11 will certainly improve the software and AI experience Gemini intelligence plans to arrive this summer. The Pixel 10 will likely get many of these features as part of its improved AI experience, but the new chipset could bring exclusive capabilities to the Pixel 11.
For now, we don’t know what features the Pixel 11 will launch with, other than a potential Pixel Glow light array. is expected to start with Android 17 out of the box, and since we’re still waiting for some previously announced features to arrive, there’s a good chance they’ll come with the Pixel 11.
Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 10: Camera improvements welcome
The 48MP primary camera on last year’s Pixel 10 was “downgraded”, although it still took great photos. Thanks to the addition of a third 5x telephoto sensor, zoom photos were excellent. For the Pixel 11, rumors suggest that Google is going back to a 50MP primary sensor that could improve noise reduction and low-light performance.
Overall, we could see slight improvements in image quality compared to the Pixel 10. However, I wish the Pixel 11 would get the same camera features as the Pro models, as the Pixel 10 missed out on a few.
Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 10: So should you upgrade?
If you already have a Pixel 10, I expect there will be little reason to upgrade to the Pixel 11. The Tensor G5 is a very capable chipset and is likely to support most of the new features coming to the Pixel 11. Even so, I doubt any new features will be enough to convince many to switch their devices.
Moreover, with seven years of OS upgrades and security patchesThe Pixel 10 still has a lot of life left.
Still, the Pixel 11 could be a good phone for anyone who doesn’t own a Pixel 10. That is, if you can handle the rumored major price increase (which will likely include double the memory, mind you). Maybe if you come suddenly Pixel 9 or earlier, the Pixel 11 might be worth the upgrade, especially if it means you get a third camera lens.
