Sim update 6 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is on the way, and after the first beta release recently, there’s even more to test with more new features.
in the year Sim Update 6 1.8.8.0 beta There’s two new pieces of content to check out, including the long-awaited return of Bush Trips from Flight Simulator 2020.
Not all of them at the moment, but there is a good chunk to test before it’s released to the public. patch notes.
“As announced during FlightSimExpo 2026, bush trips are coming to MSFS 2024 and are now available in Sim Update 6 Beta from the Activities menu. We have already added a large number of bush trips from MSFS 2020 and more will be added in the coming days.”
Another fresh piece of content is lighting, one of the big improvements already promised for Sim Update 6. General airport lighting improvements were made in the previous beta version, while this latest one adds MastLights to the same general airports, improving parking area lighting.
This is on top of the included features first Sim Update 6 betaincluding DLSS 4.5, FSR 4 and the ability to skip rides in Free Flight mode.

Steam betas are controlled through the game’s Properties menu and PS5 players can download the beta version via the PlayStation Store.
No release date has yet been set for the public version of Sim Update 6, but the latest roadmap suggests July or August. So it’s not too far.
