Meta Horizon Plus is the gateway to VR gaming on the company’s Quest headset. We’re always looking to expand our libraries, and Meta is partnering with Xbox to do just that.
This morning (July 21) was announced Meta Horizon Plus and Xbox Game Pass merge. Specifically, Meta says that the “launch edition” of Xbox Game Pass will reward VR users with a “library of 50+ games.” The two companies have included a mix of titles ranging from popular AAA games to indie titles. According to the press release, users will find Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 from Bethesda Softworks, Overcooked 2 (a chaotic, cooperative cooking game) from Ghost Town Games, Deep Rock Galactic and more.
What’s more, Meta says that the launch edition of Xbox Game Pass will offer 10 hours of cloud gaming “every month”. This allows users to stream their games rather than download them. Users can play with others using cloud and PC multiplayer. Don’t worry; Meta says there will be an option to “download titles from library for unlimited play”.
Synchronized progression is another key aspect.
If you were playing a game with your Meta VR headset and switched to Xbox, your game progress (saved data) will remain. If you have Xbox, PC, Meta Quest headset or other supported device. Users also have a chance to win additional rewards by playing. Xbox Game Pass for Meta Horizon Plus subscription launches today (July 21).
Meta adds, “Your Meta Horizon+ subscription also comes with exclusive offers to help you fill your Meta Quest library. It’s all yours for just $59.99 per year or $7.99 per month. You can even Try Meta Horizon+ for a month.”
More to experience soon. Meta says it’s working on a way to allow users to emulate an Xbox gamepad with it Quest Touch supervisors. Users can expect this support to roll out over the next few weeks. However, for now, users can play Xbox games on the Quest headset without a controller, or users can pair the controller with their headset for a “traditional experience.”
Meta and Xbox together for games is nothing new. In case you missed it, the two companies have collaborated Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition In June 2025. This headset was truly a limited edition device. Meta’s storefronts were sold out of them quicklyand encountered many consumers Best Buy or scalpers (yikes). The Xbox Edition Quest 3S was not much different from the standard model. The packaging is where they differ.
There’s a classic green and black color scheme from Xbox, as well as a “pre-installed special edition Elite Strap”. Consumers received an Xbox controller included with the purchase and already paired with the system. Turning it on and playing is always the way to go, and that’s what this one has to offer.

Emulation for Meta Touch controllers is pretty cool. I do enjoy the classic controller style gameplay though. I usually play on PC these days, but I also play more on my console. Playing with the controller, lying down. There is nothing better. The meta bringing Xbox Game Pass to the Horizon Plus subscription service is also a huge win for people who love VR and gaming on a VR device. Xbox Game Pass has a pretty good selection of games. If I had, I definitely would.
