“We’ve spent the last few years obsessively working on the fundamentals of the GT formula, reinterpreted in an advanced, unique Range Rover way,” said Range Rover managing director Martin Limpert. “The result is the most car-like Range Rover ever created, yet arguably the most electrified Range Rover ever made possible in our EMA architecture – complementing our existing powertrain portfolio to deliver a complete set of options for every customer need. Its blend of effortless EV performance, class-leading long-distance refinement and all-terrain capability; alongside a glimpse into our modern interior, is our vision of the ultimate Rover. tourist,” he said.

The EMA is the company’s third electrified platform, the others being the aforementioned MLA used by Range Rovers and the JEA platform developed by Jaguar for the future Type 01. Like the Range Rover GT, the Jaguar is a four-door Grand Tourer due to debut later this year.
Range Rover Ars showed off the interior of the GT, which is a clear departure from the interior of its SUVs. At least at first glance, it turned out to be ultra-minimalist – it still satisfies Safety regulators in Europe and elsewhere which require physical control for certain functions. I’m glad to see that the Range Rover designers avoided the idea of a third screen for the front passenger; the main instrument display and infotainment touchscreen are both OLED screens, and Range Rover has made the head-up display standard for the GT.
More details on the GT, including what it actually looks like under that camouflage, should be released later this year.
