Marvel Studios and Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con Go together as Reed and Sue. It’s just a perfect marriage. So when the company decided to release the first teaser for its sole release this year, Avengers: Judgment Day, Five days BEFORE the Hall H panelwe all thought the same thing. What the hell Marvel could be out of it that?
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, along with the film’s directors Joe and Anthony Russo, not only brought out nearly two dozen cast members, but also showed some exclusive footage from the film for the audience. Before that, there was also a cameo appearance by a man who looked like Ryan Reynolds in a gray, almost denim-looking Deadpool outfit, joking about wanting to be in the movie. The Russians said they were filming but would be open to additional photos. It was a confirmation that Deadpool was in it Doomsday? We think so.

As for the footage, it opens with a scene of Doctor Doom in full costume, sitting on a golden throne. The earth vibrates with green energy. “Victor was always the smartest guy in every room,” says Sue Storm. “It used to be different. Then everything he loved was taken from him.” He is in front of the painting in the teaser poster. “I knew it was missing, but I didn’t realize it was broken.” We see him making this speech to almost all the heroes standing in a room.
Then we fly over what looks like a completely destroyed city. Reed Richards asks in an almost horrified tone, “Victor. Did you do this?” We see shots of several characters, including a crying Magneto, Charles Xavier, Steve Rogers with a baby, and others. “You’ve all lived storied lives,” Victor said. “And now you have to give them back.”
We nail the superhero landing with Victor jumping off a building and falling to the ground. Thor is there and jumps at Doom, swinging Stormbreaker. “I swear you’re going to beg for hell when I’m done with you,” he says. Victor stops him with his finger. Thor keeps pushing and pushing but nothing happens. Victor then knocks him back with green energy. “Hell is answering me,” Victor said as he lifted a bunch of guards around him.
We’re sure there will be Marvel and more Avengers: Judgment Day at the D23 Expo next month, but for now, what do you think?
