Deadline Atari has signed a deal with Universal Pictures to produce a series of films based on ten of the company’s classic arcade and video games. These include Asteroids, Adventure, Berzerk, Breakout, centipedes, Crystal castles, Centennial, Missile Command, Pong and Yars’ revenge. While the article did not say which game the planned flagship film in the franchise is based on, the publication reports that “the catalyst was an original specification from (Matt) Reilly, a longtime studio head who wrote and produced at Universal, and producer (Karl) Hampe.” Hellboy who also worked Jungle Cruise among other films.”
