Samsung has officially confirmed plans to start rolling out AirDrop support over Quick Share starting with the Galaxy S26 series this week.
From tomorrow, March 23, Samsung will be Broadcast AirDrop over Quick Share support on Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. This feature is the first Google made its debut on Pixel 10 devices Expanding in late 2025 Pixel 9 series in recent weeks.
He explained in a note shared with Samsung 9 to 5 Google and others that the rollout begins March 23rd in Korea, while the US rollout begins “later that week.” Other supported regions include Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.
“Additional Galaxy devices” will get AirDrop over Quick Share support later, but there’s no specific timeline.
What’s important, and unlike the Pixel, is AirDrop support on the Samsung Galaxy no is enabled by default. Instead, there’s a separate setting for “Share with Apple devices” under the Quick Share settings. On the same page, Samsung explains that Galaxy users should tell iPhone users to ensure that Everyone mode is enabled, and that the Galaxy device should also have the same requirement if files are sent in the opposite direction.
It sounds like Google’s introduction of AirDrop support over Quick Share will soon expand to the Android ecosystem. Oppo also said recently its devices will add support by the end of this month.
