during Warhammer Skulls 2026one of the biggest surprises of the event is the famous co-op troop shooter, Helldivers 2Legendary has announced a partnership with Warbond Warhammer 40,000as a continuation of it Halo: ODST crossover.
No one knew what this historical crossover would look like, but now we do, as Helldivers 2 just released a trailer for Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond.
The trailer reveals that this Warbond will feature the “TG-8 Sharpshooter” and “T-122 Demo-Trooper” character skins inspired by Warhammer 40,000’s Astra Militarum faction (aka Imperial Guard) soldiers.
Additionally, this Warbond will feature weapons ripped from Warhammer 40,000, including Meltaguns, Bolt Pistols, Meltamines, and Hot-Shot Marksman Rifles, as well as new vehicle models for Helldivers 2’s mechs and combat vehicles to have color schemes similar to those used by the Imperial Guard.
The trailer confirms Helldivers 2’s Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Battleground release on August 12, 2026. Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5and via PC Steam.
Adoption of Windows Central
Now, I haven’t played Helldivers 2 for the longest time because it’s on the back burner PlayStation 5 and PC first will be released on Xbox laterthen interested in other games and therefore controversial updates that caused gamers to bombard it on Steam (although reviews have recently returned to “mostly positive”).
However, as a Warhammer 40,000 fan, I can’t help but admit to myself, “Okay, Helldivers 2, you got me, that crossover looks pretty sweet.”
For those who don’t know, the Imperial Guard is one of the toughest yet relatable factions in Warhammer 40,000 and has slowly become one of my personal favorites.
They are not genetically enhanced like the iconic Space Marines; they are ordinary men and women like you or me. However, they are not afraid to engage in unwinnable battles and fight to rid the universe of all the threats of Chaos daemons, endless hordes of Orcs, and other foul aliens in the name of the God Emperor.
Some of the greatest heroes of the Warhammer 40,000 space were also ordinary people, such as Commissioner Yarric, who repeatedly defended the world of Armageddon from millions of Orc barbarians, or Ciaphas Cain, who defended the Human Empire from Orcs, Necrons and the forces of Chaos. a massive coward who doesn’t deserve credit), just to name a few.
In short, the Imperial Guard is awesome, and I believe it’s a perfect fit for the chaotic, warring universe of Helldivers 2. So when Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbonds drops on August 12th, 2026, I can’t wait to finally give Helldivers 2 a shot (along with firing a Meltagun at the Terminds).
