Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Endgame mode is being ported to Warzone and will be free-to-play for a limited time starting April 2nd with the launch of Call of Duty Season 3 content.
Call of Duty: Warzone‘s newest big map, Avalon, originally started as a setting for the campaign’s 4-player PvE Endgame mode. Although available at launch, Endgame was originally tied to the requirement to finish Black Ops 7’s 4-player campaign and was only available through the campaign section’s options menu.

On April 2nd in Season 3, the future battle rating and downloads will change
Along with the launch of Endgame as a limited-time free-to-play mode, Season 3 brings fresh new content to Avalon for players to experience. Endgame’s PvE experience allows players to build their operator of choice as they progress through the battlegrounds, battling through Avalon with a squad of four players in both Guild and Nightmare scenarios.
Each session features up to 32 players divided into eight squads who can team up to destroy enemies and work together to unlock exotic weapons, ghost abilities and more. Completing activities in Endgame earns the player a Battle Rating, which resets to zero until Season 3 if the player fails to make it out of Avalon before the timer runs out.
With Season 3, Treyarch is reducing the lost Battle Rating to 15 per team wipe, giving players a chance to keep their progress even if a run goes badly. However, Exotic abilities, Ghost abilities, and player loading are still lost if a squad is deleted while in Avalon. Players will also have the option to manually reset the operator’s combat rating if they wish.
Loadouts also vary in Endgame and will be assigned individually to operators starting with Season 3. This gives players the chance to create new operators with different skills and playstyles, as each individual Endgame operator will have their own loadout, including weapons, field purchases and equipment. Players who stream or self-revive will see that the equipment remains with the operator who removed it.
New Endgame content is coming in Season 3
It’s not a new season without new content, and Season 3 brings with it Operation Poison Pill, which will introduce new player Operations – a series of serious objectives designed to be cleared in multiple matches in Endgame. Completing Operation Poison Pill directives will allow players to discover the location of the Link Forger Glitch Fracture, a Nightmare difficulty arena full of waves of enemies that will keep even Endgame veterans on their toes.
Completing Operation Poison Pill will unlock “Override” Operator skins for Grimm, Mason, or Anderson (provided you complete the operation with one of those designated operators.) Earning 1 Override skin also unlocks the “Blighted” weapon camo, and earning all 3 skins is the only way to unlock the “Virulent” weapon.
Additional Operation Poison Pill awards include:
- “Poison Pill” Weapon Charm and 1000 XP
- Recover token and 1000 XP
- 1 Hour Double Player XP Token and 1000 XP
- Node Husk Emblem and 2500 XP
- 1 Hour Double Battle Ticket XP Token and 2500 XP
- “Toxic Entry” Large Decal and 2500 XP
- 1 Hour Double Weapon XP Token and 5000 XP
- “Barbed Mouth” Loading Screen and 5000 XP
- “Looks good!” Emote and 5000 XP
- “Venomous Override” AAROW 109 Launcher Weapon Blueprint, “Fractal Death” Animated Calling Card and 7500 XP
To unlock these rewards, players can try their hand at the new Warband skill track, designed for players who like to control the battlefield with the help of summoned allies. The skill track has 5 abilities – Plague, Wirehand, Smuggler, Bloodthief and Healthhounds – and the Steelhand special ability.
A new minor ability, Aether Blade, will allow players to throw an Aether-infused blade that hunts down targets.
