Season five of For All Mankind is now streaming on Apple TV


The fifth season For All Humanity begins airs today on Apple TV. The long-running space drama airs weekly, with new episodes released every Friday.

It marks the beginning of the series’ penultimate season, with production already underway for the sixth and final season. A spin-off show, called Star Citypremieres at the end of May.

It introduces a time jump for all of Humanity with the start of each new season. The alternate history sci-fi story began with the Soviets defeating the United States to become the first to land on the moon.

The fifth season begins in the 2010s, with a base firmly established on the surface of Mars and supporting a population of thousands. But there are tensions as governments on Earth want to get more involved with how the Mars base works. An unexpected death sparks discussions about the organization of martial law and order.

Joel Kinnaman returns to the cast as astronaut Ed Baldwin with ever more exposure to makeup and prosthetics, the character now nearly 80 years old. Fan-favorite characters Margo (Wrenn Schmidt), Miles (Toby Kebbell) and Kelly Baldwin (Cynthy Wu) also have prominent storylines in the new season.

You can expect some major dramatic twists in the upcoming ten episodes as the show is now on a home stretch and the series finale (season 6) will be next year. It also builds excitement for spinoff Star City, which will air on Apple TV on May 29, the same day as the season five finale of For All Humankind.
