Android 16 introduced transparency to the notification shade and Quick Settings last year. Android 17 Beta 3 is rumored to continue this blurring trend.
The background of the widget selector changes from a solid color to a blur. You can create your home screen and app icons. This effect applies to each program sheet and the full list.
Beta 2 and 3

There is also a blur effect when you launch apps. This can be hard to notice or appreciate as the app transitions from icon to full screen quite quickly. Notice how your wallpaper is now blurry as the app takes over the entire screen. The background is unchanged from previous releases.
Android 17 was leaked earlier showed the blur coming to the power menu, volume selector and full sheet. It’s not in beta yet. Google will likely complete this visual update with a stable release in June.
When it was introduced last year, Google said the blur effect “provides a sense of depth, so movement is light and you can be aware of apps you’re using in the background.”
