Amazon brings 4K video to its battery-powered Ring Doorbell


Amazon this week announced a new collection of Ring Doorbell models that feature 4K and 2K video enhancements on the battery-powered hardware, something Google’s Nest lineup has yet to do.

The Nest Video Doorbell (battery) and wired version we launched nearly five years ago today lacks the 2K video update. that we liked very muchtaken last year. It goes without saying that updates are overdue on Google’s side, but the timing is unknown. Nest’s biggest competition, Amazon, is putting some pressure on it, though.

Amazon this week announced Its latest Ring Doorbell models, the entire battery-operated range, are refreshed with some major updates.

The biggest addition is 4K video support Ring Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Generation). The $250 doorbell supports up to 10x zoom and “greater clarity” in both daylight and low-light conditions. It features a 140-degree POV both horizontally and vertically, while also supporting color night vision.

Elsewhere in the ranking Bell Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Generation) It features 2K video and a quick-release battery pack Battery Doorbell (2nd Generation) features 2K video in a “streamlined” design without the quick release package. There is also a new one 2K wired doorbell too.

Ring also offers some first-party accessories like solar chargers – one mounted on a mount and you can place it somewhere else – Ring AI Pro brings additional functionality, including 180 days of video history, for a monthly subscription price ($19.99 per month).

The new line begins shipping in mid-April.
