The era of terrible tech April Fool’s jokes is over, and while Dbrand has had a few stinkers, “Touch Grass” skins are one of the few decent things to come out of this lame phenomenon.
Re-released after a limited release last year, Touch Grass skins bring a lush green lawn experience to your phone, tablet, laptop or even your gaming console. Dbrand has combined this with another new “Blue Sky” skin that comes free with every Touch Grass skin you purchase. This combination aims to replicate the grandeur of the great outdoors and could be ideal for the tech-savvy.
Skins are available as plain skins on your phone or as skins for various Dbrand cases and other accessories. It even includes a Rubik’s Cube clone with a ‘Flat Earth’ setting with sky and grass options to choose from.
Dbrand says that sky-based skin – as always – a reminder that we’re all connected to our devices and maybe we should look up a little more. Even the Windows 98 website shopping experience is back, which helps tie everything together. It’s a retreat, but also a call to action. Not that it replaces the real thing.
