Clearly, rising hardware prices are deeply affecting PC gamers
It’s not at all shocking to see RAM and storage drops on the average gaming PC. A quick overview Newegg this morning shows that 32GB of DDR5 will cost you between $300 and $600. DDR4 RAM isn’t much better, with 32GB kits costing $200 to $300.
It’s basically the same story for modern storage. I covered a several SSD deals it was exciting to see discounted prices everywhere this week and just a year ago.
Other notable stats include Intel’s Arc Graphics finally making it onto the GPU usage board. 0.32% share it. I expect this number to continue to grow Panther Lake laptops to saturate the market.
In recent months, the NVIDIA RTX 4060 at the top of the GPU board has dropped significantly. 3.54% to land on the ground 3.92% overall. The trusty RTX 3060 came out on top again, though 0.50% landing
PC gamers using a QHD (2560×1440) resolution monitor are down 17.94% to land on the ground 20.7% In general, while FHD (1920×1080) monitors are increasing 6.89% to lead with common 51.93% share it.
It’s clear that the regular order of things – newer hardware slowly taking over the user base – has been seriously disrupted by obscene hardware prices, and unfortunately there’s really no end to the trend.
