Samsung is finally rolling out a free upgrade for its smart TVs that brings Google Cast support.
Samsung makes some best smart tvs One limitation in the market has been the company’s use of its own Tizen OS. You can still use Tizen OS (or A UI Tizen on newer Samsung TVs) means you’re missing out on one of Google TV’s most useful features: Google Cast.
Thankfully, that’s changing now, as Samsung has started rolling out updates that bring support for Google Cast to its older smart TVs from 2023 and 2024. The feature was already confirmed for 2026 models, but now it’s coming to older TVs as well.

Adoption of Android Central
This feels long overdue. It never made sense not to have Google Cast on Samsung TVs, especially when they’ve had cheaper Android TVs for years. It’s good to see that Samsung has finally fixed one of its biggest ecosystem loopholes.
A Reddit user reported their S90D OLED TV showed off a new “Continuity” screen showing Google Cast support (via SamMobile). Samsung hasn’t officially announced the launch yet, so it’s happening quietly. It is not yet clear which models are supported.
Once the update hits Samsung TV, you’ll be able to stream content directly from your Android phone, tablet, or even your Chrome browser on your laptop, without the need for a separate device like Chromecast or the like. We haven’t seen the update arrive on our Samsung TV yet, but depending on your region or specific TV model, it could take a few weeks to roll out to your device.
