These 6 celebrity-narrated audiobooks are worth every Audible credit you collect

If you’re like me and you’re a reader, you love books in all different formats. With so many film and television adaptations from books I read physical copies, I love my e-reader, and even better, I listen to audiobooks. This, of course, led me to Libby and Audible.

Unless I’m not Audible Plus Member, there are still many books on this platform and if you are collecting credits and wondering what to use them for, I have some great options for you. In fact, all of these audiobooks are narrated by celebrities – some with a full cast and others by a single narrator.

Dutch House – Narrated by Tom Hanks

His voice is like no other

It tops the list Dutch house By Ann Patchett. Released in 2019, the novel tells the story of the bond between two sisters, Danny and Maeve, who are exiled from their childhood home by their stepmother and must rely on each other throughout their lives. The story is told from Danny’s point of view, leading to acclaimed narrator Tom Hanks.

To me, Tom Hanks has always been that celebrity that… calms me down for some reason. I think he’s been in some of my favorite movies of all time or voiced some of my favorite characters (Woody Toy Story). He delivered an outstanding narrative performance for this experience.

With a steady and soothing voice, you can’t help but be drawn into the story because of how well he speaks. His diction is perfect and by the end you will be looking for other books written by this talented man.

I’m Glad My Mother Is Dead – Narrated by Jeanette McCurdy

Now I have to recommend it because I’ve listened to it myself. I’m Glad My Mom Is Dead is a memoir by Jeannette McCurdy who narrated the audiobook. If you haven’t heard of this New York Times bestseller, the memoir chronicles McCurdy’s life as a child actor, his struggles with fame and body issues, and how he became who he is now, while detailing his toxic relationship with his mother.

There’s something so raw about listening to someone read their memoir. And for such a book I’m Glad My Mom Is DeadHearing McCurdy’s voice is even more mesmerizing. It’s almost like listening to a friend tell you their story, choosing to expose all the good and bad parts of their past to share their truth. His tone is felt throughout the experience, and due to his effortless narration, you’ll be through it in no time.

Why Is Audible So Expensive?

Audible may seem like an expensive subscription, but you might be surprised how much you get.

Harry Potter series – full cast

I don’t have to understand why you should listen Harry Potter by JK Rowling. I mean, it’s Harry Potter. It is a legendary series. As someone who grew up reading all the books and watching all the movies and It continues to do so through an HBO Max subscriptionit’s my bread and butter.

But Audible exclusives Harry Potter audiobooks are really great. It’s a full cast, meaning every character has a different voice, and there are a lot of big celebrities who are a part of it, including Matthew Macfadyen, Hugh Laurie, Riz Ahmed and more. It sounds. Actually there are more than 200 actors. As of this writing, five of the seven have been released.

Taste – Narrated by Stanley Tucci

Stanley Tucci is another big name that everyone in Hollywood knows and this is one of his projects that I have to include in this list. Tastehis personal memory narrated by himself.

Taste is essentially a memoir, but it examines Tucci’s life through the lens of food, his Italian-American upbringing, his entry into the film industry, his personal struggles, and his surrounding aspect—eating good food. A great novel to read as a girl who loves to cook and spends most of her time in the kitchen.

But honestly, it’s better to listen to it. Tucci’s passion and love of food comes through loud and clear. It will make you want to watch some of his movies immediately.

Sandman – full cast

What could be better than classic fantasy?

This is another complete streaming audiobook series that I have to include on this list Sandman. Narrated by author Neil Galman, each character is voiced by someone different. The multi-part audio drama is everything you need and much more after the Dream trip that embodies dreams.

The series is divided into three acts, each featuring an incredible cast of characters, including James McAvoy as the Dream, Kat Dennings as Death, David Tennant as Loki and more. The list can be continued.

Heartburn – Narrated by Meryl Streep

Last speaker

This was the last audiobook I had to include on this list Heartburn. The book is semi-autobiographical by writer Nora Ephron. It focuses on the story of Rachel, a pregnant cookbook author who discovers her husband is having an affair with a socialite from across the globe, leading to a world of hurt, heartbreak and healing.

Meryl Streep narrates the book, and if that sounds like a fantastic idea, you’re not wrong. Streep is a great actress on the big and small screen, but her voice is also great for audiobooks. It’s melancholic when it needs to be, sweet at other times, and just the right amount of relaxation to keep you listening for hours. I couldn’t recommend a better book to listen to.

If you had to choose any audiobook to listen to with your credits, these are some of the best, especially I’m just getting started with Audible.
