Yes, Copilot is still here and Microsoft 365 (The Office) is now expanding it with “Wave 3”. In case you missed the concept of waves in the first place, they basically refer to mass releases of key features for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Wave 1 was the initial implementation of Copilot in Microsoft’s Office applications AI assistant appears first in documents, emails, and presentations. Wave 2 Expanded Copilot within Microsoft’s ecosystem, introducing new collaboration tools like Copilot Studio and deeper integration into Microsoft 365.

The company too Introducing Microsoft 365’s premium “E7” package – “The First Frontier Package”. Combines existing high end ‘E5’ An enterprise subscription with advanced security, analytics and compliance tools alongside Copilot and the new Agent 365 offering in one package.
This update brings improvements to Copilot’s chat features, allowing users to easily exchange documents, presentations, spreadsheets and emails directly from the chat interface. Moreover, Microsoft introduces Work IQA new layer of intelligence that uses organization data, collaboration history, and internal content to help Copilot better understand your specific workplace context.
Copilot also adds support for additional models, including Anthropic’s Claude OpenAIof GPT. Finally, we will see one Introduction to Copilot Coworkis currently in preview, allowing AI agents to perform longer, multi-step processes over time rather than responding to single prompts.
And finally, there is a new one Agent 365 in addition, it is a management platform for organizations to monitor and control AI agents specially designed for them. Agent 365 will be released on May 1, 2026 and will cost $15 per user — that “Frontier Suite” E7 package also includes Agent 365, Microsoft Entra, Defender, Intune and Purview starting May 1, 2026 for $99 per user.
Whether you like Copilot on Windows (Microsoft has at least put consumers at ease and no longer pushes it pretty much as aggressive)it is definitely here to stay on the business side led by Microsoft 365.
At the very least, this latest software expansion could be useful for some businesses looking to use agent AI, potentially easing tedious, repetitive workloads and freeing up time for more important, human-driven tasks.
