GSC Game World’s 2024 open world survival shooter Stalker 2 2026 is going to be pretty big because of its first of two planned DLC expansions, Cost of Hope it is planned to be launched this summer. was officially announced during Xbox Partner Preview Due at the end of March, the DLC will feature a rekindled conflict between two of the Zone’s biggest and most popular factions: Duty and Freedom.
Ahead of the expansion’s arrival and at some point in April, the developers at GSC are releasing a free content update for the atmospheric FPS called Sealed Truth – which will expand on one of the scariest locations in the original 2007 STALKER game Shadow of Chernobyl, as well as the earliest STALERK2 games.

As for what we’ll find in the unexplored depths of X-18 specificallyimpossible to say without more information. At the very least, I expect STALKER 2 to have a few deadly mutants like bloodhounds, buryers, and poltergeists, and potentially even a pseudogiant (one was in the Shadow of Chernobyl lab, after all).
Of course, it’s also entirely possible that we’ll have to go deeper into the lab to encounter a new threat that’s related for whatever reason. Sealed Truth’s additions may even be related to Hope’s DLC, though again, we can’t say for sure right now.
It’s also unclear if the expanded X-18 area can be explored earlier in STALKER 2, or if it’s something you’ll have to come back to later once you’ve progressed through the Zone and acquired high-quality gear. If I had to guess, I’d say the former is more likely since the rest of X-18 is busy early game.
I wish we knew more about Sealed Truth’s specific release date, but regardless, it’s great that we’re getting a free content update ahead of Cost of Hope’s release later this year. Notably, STALKER 2 is also set to receive a patch before the DLC launches, upgrading its engine to Unreal Engine 5.5.4, which will significantly improve its performance.
