As I got older, I realized that time is one of the most valuable assets. I’m always looking for more time, especially when it comes to streaming. I’m a week behind on TV and my anxiety is growing by the second as I know it will be hard to catch up if I wait any longer. I just want to sit down in the afternoon and finish the show before I fall asleep. Fortunately, Paramount+ has several shows that can be enjoyed in one sitting.
Here comes my top pick Taylor Sheridan, MVP of Paramount+considering how many shows he has on the service. The second show on the list comes from a director who has become a major creative force Do not quit. The rest of my picks are a mix of crime epics and mystery dramas that will hook you right from the start.

The Woman on the Wall
Sleepwalking is at the heart of this mystery
I always liked Ruth Wilson Luther and The Affair. He has an emotional intensity that comes out when playing three-dimensional characters. His performance The Woman on the Wall is a prime example of a role that best suits their skills. One day, Lorna Brady (Wilson) wakes up to find a dead woman in her house. Could Lorna be a suspect in the murder? She had a terrible case of falling asleep, which landed her in a home for troubled women in Ireland. In this prison-like facility, Lorna had a baby who was later taken from her.
Complicating matters is Colman Akande (Daryl McCormack), a detective with secrets of his own. Colman wants to solve the case. Lorna wants to find her daughter. Their paths will eventually cross as the truth is revealed. The Woman on the Wall it’s only six episodes, but they fly by as each hour brings back another layer of intrigue. Murder mysteries, for example The Woman on the Wallis the ideal genre for a binge session.

Cold water
Andrew Lincoln finally doesn’t have to fight any zombies
I will always see Andrew Lincoln From Rick Grimes The Walking Dead, unless it’s December. Then it is the person holding the card Love, Actually. This is a problem I need to work on and Cold water gives me a chance to see his work outside of the zombie apocalypse. The six-episode British drama stars Lincoln as John, who moves his family from London to the lonely town of Coldwater, Scotland.
John moved because of a wild incident at the playground. While in Coldwater, John meets his neighbor Tommy (Ewen Bremner), a local idol and loyal member of the community. As time passes, John begins to see Tommy’s dark side as disturbing events begin to mount. Cold water is your classic story about the neighbor with skeletons in his closet. It always plays a part for me, especially if there’s a murder involved.

Waco
One of the darkest moments in FBI history
Waco is a crime series that is difficult to watch due to its theme. The six-part series is based on the 1993 Waco standoff between the controversial religious organization, the Branch Davidians, the FBI and the ATF. At the center of the Branch Davidians was David Koresh (Taylor Kitsch), a charismatic religious leader who refused to comply with the demands of the FBI. Michael Shannon plays Gary Noesner, the FBI agent who negotiates with Koresh.
Frankly, I didn’t know Kitsch, known for his role as Tim Riggins friday night lights, then there was this kind of performance. It provides a physical transformation for a charismatic and complex character. Some go to see Waco and I think the show is sympathetic to Koresh. Others are outraged by the FBI’s actions. We know how this story ends; filling in the details of how we got to the explosive ending is the charm of the show.

Escape to Dannemora
How did that happen?
I’m a skeptic when I watch movies about prison escapes. “There’s no way this is going to happen” keeps running through my mind. If the movies are fictional or set before the 21st century, then by all means describe the flaws however you want. Escape to Dannemora It’s based on a true story that happened in 2015 and still haunts me.
Two convicted murderers at Clinton Correctional Facility, Richard Matt (Benicio del Toro) and David Sweat (Paul Dano), successfully escape thanks to the help of an employee named Tilly Mitchell (Patricia Arquette). The seven-episode series follows the planned escape as well as the events that lead Tilly to seek comfort with each man. It’s a slow burn, but patience is rewarded with great performances from the cast and excellent direction from Ben Stiller. Work with Arquette Do not quit.

The Madison
Taylor Sheridan struggles with grief
Love him or hate him, Taylor Sheridan’s efficiency is unparalleled. His Biography-Yellowstone, Landmanand lion– only grows from year to year. Sheridan’s last show last month, The Madisonit happened the most-watched first-season episode of any Sheridan show with eight million views worldwide in the first 10 days.
Michelle Pfeiffer headlines the six-episode series as Stacy Clyburn, a New Yorker who moves her family to Montana’s Madison River Valley after a tragic event. Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett and Matthew Fox also star. Unlike most of Sheridan’s work, The Madison it’s less Western soap opera and more melodrama about grief and trauma. It’s an interesting turn for Sheridan and, frankly, necessary to prove his versatility as a writer.
