Google wants to make sure the images you upload to Google Maps are as useful as possible, and of course they use artificial intelligence to do that.
Maps it will now suggest the photos you need to upload provided you access your gallery. Once you enable this from the app settings, you’ll automatically see photos and videos from your recent trips highlighted in the Contributions tab. These recommendations are available at launch on Android and will be available on iOS in the coming months.

After selecting the photo or video you want to download, Twins will analyze the media and suggest the most suitable title. “Captions add valuable context to photos, but finding the right words can sometimes be difficult,” says Google.
Note that these are not reviews of the place itself, but photo captions created by artificial intelligence. These titles are short, caption-like titles for images. Once Gemini has created them for you, you can keep them as is or make changes.

AI subtitles on Maps are available in English for iOS users in the US. They will expand to Android and users worldwide in the coming months.
Finally, Google is making interface changes on iOS, Android, and desktop that will encourage users to type more often. You’ll now see your total impact points and achievement badges more prominently in the Contribution tab. The same goes for Local Guide levels on your profile page. High-level contributors will also receive gold colored profiles.
