It’s been a while since Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and it wasn’t cheap to begin with. The base 256GB model starts at $2,000 in the US, while the 512GB variant starts at $2,119 and the 1TB model starts at $2,419.
However, it now appears that Samsung has quietly increased the prices of the 512GB and 1TB variants in the US. 9 to 5 Googleboth models are up $80 with no changes to the hardware or the official announcement.

It brings 512GB variant up to $2,200 and the 1TB model for up to $2,500. While $80 may not seem like much for a phone in this price range, it shows that Samsung is not accepting the increased costs and is starting to pass them on to buyers. The base 256GB model remains unchanged at $2,000.
Adoption of Android Central
This feels like Samsung testing the waters. An $80 bump on already expensive options may not hurt immediately, but it sets a precedent. I wouldn’t be surprised if this rolls out to more devices soon.
Samsung hasn’t officially announced the price increase, but the reasons are pretty clear. The costs of components, including memory, are on the rise, and there is only so much that companies can accept. We have already seen the base Galaxy S26 it retails for $100 more than its predecessor, which seems to be part of the same trend.
Other smartphone brands are expected to follow a similar path this year. Nothing the CEO has offered recently that entry-level Android phones may be hit even harder by rising costs.
So far, Samsung hasn’t increased prices across its entire lineup, but it wouldn’t be surprising if more changes follow.
