Google has started reporting YouTube Premium It’s telling subscribers in the US that it’s raising subscription prices starting next month, and the change isn’t a small one.
Multiple reports Reddit (via Piunikaweb) suggest that users have started receiving official letters from Google regarding price increases. In these emails, Google highlights its benefits YouTube Premiumsuch as ad-free browsing, background playback and offline downloads before confirming that the new price will take effect next month.
According to these reports, the individual plan starts at $13.99 $15.99 per month. The annual plan also increases from $139.99 to $159.99. Family plans see a bigger jump from $22.99 per month $26.99/mothe student plan increases from $7.99 to $8.99 per month.

Interestingly, YouTube has yet to make any official announcement through a press release. Instead, it began quietly notifying users via email, this time without clearly explaining why the prices were going up.
The the last price increase took place in July 2023when the individual plan goes from $11.99 to $13.99 per month. This latest bump follows a similar $2 increase pattern, now bringing it to $15.99 per month.
What makes it more noticeable is time. YouTube over the past few months more aggressive with ads was also for non-paying users prevention of ad blockers. Now, even paying subscribers see price increases without much warning, which may not sit well with many users.

Another price increase and it’s harder to justify. YouTube Premium is great – in fact, it’s a service I’m happy to pay for – but it’s slowly creeping into “too expensive for what it offers” territory. Hopefully Google adds more meaningful features (not just things like this) to justify the increase Ask videos function).
